About
Hi! I'm Deja.
I'm an aspiring journalist who grew up in Atlanta, GA. I was raised by two non-creatives that decided it would be OK to let their little girl pursue a seemingly impractical career. I've been writing for about 3 years now. It's pretty cool. I'm getting pretty good at it. I found my love for media during high school. I was a member of my senior council and Mass Media program. During this time I helped plan, as well as host my school's events. I then knew that broadcasting was my calling.
I now attend Atlanta Metropolitan State College studying mass communications. After I receive my 2 year degree in 2017, I plan to continue on my education at Clark Atlanta University. There is not a day that goes by that I'm not thinking of new ways to perfect my craft. I aspire to host my own radio talk show one day, and that's not going to come by being mediocre. When I'm not writing you can find my face somewhere burried into a phone screen. I try to stay up to date with EVERYTHING in pop-media! From social media, to entertainment channels, you name it.

Why do I love writing & inspiring other people to write more, too?
I love writing because it’s one of the simplest ways to create a positive ripple in the world (and you don’t need any fancy tools to do it). Just an idea, a pen and a piece of paper, or a device with a keyboard, and the willingness to share what’s in your heart and mind.

With one text, one email, one letter, or a few words of advice, you can dramatically change someone’s day, week, month, or life.
Hm, other bits and bobs.
I also enjoy eating, makeup, reading, skincare, hiking, yoga, making candles, and learning to paint. My personal mantra is: "Every day in every way I'm getting better and better". Oh, you'll also rarely find me wearing anything other than pink or black.
